British Museum

Yesterday we went to the British Museum. We arrived at about 10:30 and we go back to Queenswood at 15:00 p.m. The weather was really good because it was sunny and it was hot, maybe a little bit too hot but it was OK. I went to the Egyptian part, Japanese, European, Roman and Greek part. It was really interesting and this museum was really big. I like the Egyptian part and I think it was the most interesting part in this museum. Few hours later I ate my lunch bu I ate it in the museum. Then I wento back to the museum and visited some other parts. Then we went back to Queenswood at 15:00 pm.

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was born in 15th of April in 1452 and he died in 2nd of May in 1519. He was an Italian polymath, having been a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer. Leonardo was educated in the studio of the renowned Florentine painter, Verrocchio. Much of his earlier working life was spent in the service of Ludovico il Moro in Milan. He later worked in Rome, Bologna and Venice, spending his final years in France at the home given to him by King François I.

The painting is famous, in particular, for the elusive smile on the woman's face, its mysterious quality brought about perhaps by the fact that the artist has subtly shadowed the corners of the mouth and eyes so that the exact nature of the smile cannot be determined.

Weekend Blog 2

My favourite part of the weekend was playing softball. I had to run all the time but at the end we had a rest and we told each other jokes. It was on Sunday. I was in team with Maggie, Yelena, Daphne and I don't remember....

This weekend was my first weekend in Queenswood and the thing that I found most thrilling was playing the piano after I had wrote the entering test yesterday. I haven't played for such a long time that touching the piano and playing polish most popular songs made me feel like I was in Gdansk playing in my own home.

Excursion to London

Yesterday we went on the excursion to London and we had a walking tour. The walking tour was OK but the weather was bad because it was raining and it was cold.

After the walking tour we had about 30 min. rest and we could go to Starbucks cafe or buy something to eat.

Then we went to this ship Belfast from the Second World War. It was quite boring but there were those plastic people and T was saying all the time that they are real... Then I took some photos with my friends and finally we got off from there.

Then we took some photos again but this time with all the groups. And some people bought ice creams and then we could go back to Queenswood. So, that's everything for today. Bye bye :)

Weekend Blog

Hi! :) On Friday there was an assembly and there were some performances, an "advertisement" by Fitness&Health workshop and Star Students Awards. I think that the assembly was OK. The first performance was by the Drama workshop and then there was another class but I don't really remember which class :). After those performances there was a "commercial break" by Fitness&Health workshop. Then they gave us those Star Students Award, unfortunately I didn't get this Students Award but it's OK :)

The following day on Saturday we went to Cambridge and we could go shopping or sightseeing. We had about 3 and a half hours so we had a lot of time :). I went shopping with Kasia, Jelena and Kasia. We went to some shops like GAP, OASIS, STARBUCKS, SISLEY, CHOCOLATE etc. We bought some clothes, sweets and presents for our parents and friends. Then we took some pictures and they were really cool! We also took pictures with those English Telephone Boxes :). Later we had to go to the meeting point and go back to Queenswood. At 8 p.m we had a disco. I didn't like it because there was a bad atmosphere and the music wasn't really good.

On Sunday half of the people in Queenswood went to the Thorpe Park and half stayed here, I mean they stayed in Queenswood. I didn't go to the Thorpe Park either and I had some activities. To tell the truth Sunday was the most boring day ever!

Tower of London

Hey! Yesterday we were on a walking excursion to the Tower of London and somewhere else. It was quite boring but we were outside and have some fresh air etc. Then we went back to Queenswood, have a dinner and activities.

Hey! I'm Hai Anh :). I'm from Poland but I'm Vietnamese. My teacher is George, he told me to write that he's a terrible teacher etc. But he's OK. I hope that I'll meet some friends from other countries and just have fun. Queenswood looks really nice, I like it. Now in the UK it's rainig all the time and it's a little bit cold in here. I really want to go to the Thorpe Park :) Ok, I'm going now, Bye!
